Tallér banknote commemorative set 2020 - Hungarian Freedom Revolutions

N8955
Forint 1946-

We are very pleased to present the new draft Banknote series made with the help of the Numis Numismatics medal shop and young graphic artists and historians!

Our current forint line is subject to many criticisms. Many people miss the female characters, many question the people on the current banknote line.

We toyed with the idea of what would happen if we exchanged our inflated forint currency. Instead, a new, valuable currency, the Hungarian thaler, would be introduced.

This draft commemorates the glories of Hungarian freedom, such as the Bocskai uprising, the Rákóczi War of Independence, the War of Independence of 1848-49 and the 1956 revolution, which fundamentally transformed Hungarian history and society. Ilona Zrínyi, Munkács' defender, II. Mother of Ferenc Rákóczi; Júlia Szendrei, who was also a poet as Petőfi's wife, was the first to translate the works of the great storyteller Andersen into Hungarian, and Erika Szeles, an iconic figure and martyr of the 1956 revolution.

What is new among the men is the portrait of General Görgei, the general of our war of independence, who has made a lasting impression not only in the field of warfare but also in chemistry.
